In 2007, the Blue Zones team visited the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, a place with a cluster of the longest-lived people in the Americas. On day six, we tested a theory that a particular genetic line contributed to the Nicoyans longevity, only to find our hypothesis challenged.
