Written by Administrator

Dan recently visited one of the happiest places in North America, and it's just south of our border: Mexico. Watch the video below to see what he learned.

It is very simply; the Happy Mexicans are the ones who are getting millions of dollars in wired money from the US, just getting 300 USD per month makes a big difference in Mexico. The other reason is the high level of family unity; in most cases they tend to stay in the same place as the were born (rural Mexico) but the country is extremely diverse; in fact you will see that there are several Mexicos inside the country; however, it is well known that 7 of every 10 Mexicans will leave the country forever if they have an opportunity; just do a survey in California, Texas, Illinois, etc and ask us how many of us will come back to Mexico..very very few...

A happy person exudes many positive aspects of his/her life. Being happy to me means, contentment within myself because of my happy disposition most of the time. I have sad moments and I take it in stride, and back to normal again. A man once asked me, ''Why are you happy all the time?'' I smile most of the time, laugh and giggle, playful and youthful, all contribute to a happier life. This is how I stay younger.

I just came back form Guatemala in Centereal America a few months ago and people over there are very happy. They work hard evry day just to have food on their tables for their families to eat. They don't worry about the time or how little they have. These families are very happy with the lives the have. To answer Seanmfox's question as to why if they are so happy so many leave mexico and other countries to come to the US. They do so (the younger ones) to make the lives of thier parents and siblings better in their country. They come for what they are told is the american dream. Other countires look out for their parents and other family members, wher ein the US most toss thier family members in nursing homes. I think everyone in the US should have to travel to another country and then they will learn to valve what they do have here and not want want want.

I agree with the comment written by Jason also. America's people have owned the term "americans" for eons. Mexicans and Canadians probablylike their names the way they are. (no offence Mexicans or Canadians. If any.) Just remember it's a title and it shouldn't keep us from being friends with one another. titles shouldn't matter even though to some people they do.

Are you kidding? How many Americans leave the country every year? They decide to pass their retirements in other countries like Costa Rica, Brazil and Panama. Why not stay in their "happier" country. They leave to other countries to fight wars! How happy can that be?

Americans -
Unfortunately, I agree with the comment written by Jason. We living in the US of A, often refer to ourselves as "Americans", as if the US represents all of the Americas (North and South). And, it leads me to wonder, did the other countries on these two continents stop referring to themselves (e.g., the Canadians) as "Americans" to disassociate themselves from us?

"Americans"
written by Jason, May 24, 2008
To BiggerPicture : I beg to differ. Americans - from the US - have long taken over the term American for eons. A Canadian is no more American than a Mexican. "America" to Canadians is the place otherwise known as the US.

And that's just fine for me - Americans - from the US - can have it. I'm perfectly happy being Canadian only.

Zippinski - talk about xenophobic and small-minded. FYI - people that live in the United States aren't the only "Americans". Mexicans are Americans, so are Canadians, and the same for people living in Central and South America. If you are going to be stereotypical and criticize others, at least direct your criticisms properly.

Perhaps not ALL...
written by Jane, May 20, 2008
Yes, perhaps not ALL of the Mexicans live in Mexico, but these particular ones in the video ARE living in Mexico, living their lives in the simplest of terms....with hope, gratitude for what they DO have, and love.... what could be MORE MISSING from American society's heart??!!

One of the key points in the clip is look for the good in order to be happy. You who are commenting show much anger.

Why we Americans are unhappy
written by Zippinski, May 20, 2008
The four comments below illustrate why Americans often test out as among the most unhappy people on the planet. Notice the arrogance, competitiveness to the extreme degree of militancy, the old "us vs them" xenophobia, the equation of wealth with quality of life, and the misinformation about where the USA actually stands in terms of internationally comparative levels of life expectancy and life-satisfaction and awareness about the world. This sort of ideology adds up to a stressful and unhealthy people.
